Ever since I got back from my trip to pattaya in october I noticed that I wasn't quite the same person that left 2 weeks before.
I've become what some people might call a "Cheap Charlie".
I started to look and measure things though Thailand standards....for example, and trust me, there a whole lot more of these:
1) I have no patience with girls anymore.
- I see theres an interest from their part but then I start analyzing. They want to be taken out, food, wine. A typical first date (dinner or drinks) would cost me around 100 pounds....ohhh and theres no guarantee I'll even get a shag! Most likely I'll have to do one more date to get any action so thats over 15000 bhat before a shag NO THANKS.
2) I find sex dull!
- After the "beach road discipline sessions", Soi 6 crawls, the "boom boom and cum all over their face for 500 baht" encounters".... doing a girl back home turns somewhat boring, like reading a newspaper. Mind you, that I can get the same treatment from girls back at home its just that I have to WORK at it and I've not the patience for it anymore.
You know what the sad thing is though? I donno if its that sad....but, Im not strap for cash. I'm earning good money as an engineer.
How has Thailand modified your behavior? It doesn't have to be financial....that was just an example for me.

I came out in a group of 10 guys in their late 40's. believe it or no, I brought my Tennis Racket! Apart from being propositioned as a Back-Packer in Nice and enquiring about charges of a girl working a hotel in Danemark - I had never even met a "working girl" before. I had my own, extremely profitable business, BMW, Laser Dinghy, 2 great kids, cottage in Wiltshire and a fucked up wife.
7 years later: 2 more semi adopted kids, 4 bedroomed terraced bungalow, pimping 60 working girls, a bar full of drunks and a beautiful, but challenging wife.
Guess I was lucky! Sure I was!

i guess life has its weird twists and turns but i suppose it all turns out in the end, never how you plan it but " fate is but what we make ourselves"
Youre doing a fine job anyway pete. Im just starting out at the fine age of 20 and have no experience with wives or children, a few crazy girlfriends(some thai)if that counts but my dads always saying i wish i would of discovered thailand at your age.
I suppose im lucky in a way to enjoy the totally diffrent way of life from back home. Maybe move out after a few more years of working who knows????
keep up the good work pete

JimmyMac... you have asked me to post something here !
Well, it´s difficult to say if Thailand has changed my life or not.
My history of traveling to Thailand includes almost everything one can get overthere:
After traveling to India six times and to some other Asian destinations during the past 15 years, I finaly made it to Thailand… for the first time in the year 2004.
I fell in love with a girl who wasn´t working in any bar… I met her again on my next trip… I tried to support and help her when she got some health problems… but in the year 2006, when I came back to Thailand to see her, she left me alone !
The relationship failed and I escaped from all the trouble to Pattaya, where I discovered Anna Jet.
I began to learn how things have to go… and now I use to return at least one time in a year.
But Thailand is not my final destination in life, even it looks like that I still stick with the Land Of Smiles.
Thailand had changed my life, but only for the while I was in love with a girl.
Right now I can say that I´m still the same old Mike like I always was.
And never again I would travel overthere for love or to change my life...
Thailand is for holidays !
Real life is back home !
Everything else I have to say about myself and about Thailand, is written in MekongMike´s Blog at www.ukbkk.com as some sort of novelization of my trip reports.
Cheers !

Peter,
In the US we would call you a "Playa or Mac Daddy". Seriously you've got a good thing going on.
On thing I've noticed about my visits is that I have never been more relaxed and at ease in my life. I've been a Soldier, a Police Officer, and a Security Contractor in some of the worlds hot zones. My Thai experience is better than therapy. Never needing to check my 6 for danger. I enjoy walking in to Anna Jet's and being greeted by a warm hug, and a beautiful girl wiping my face and neck with a cool towel. Thai girls could give lessons to western women on how to make a man happy (and keep them happy). No, western women wouldn't listen to the advice given. That's part of the problem.
I plan to return often. No money, No honey. When I do I'll always return to Anna's. _________________ What doesn't kill you, can only make you stronger...

Big Daddy, welcome to the forum!
Glad you still like Anna Jet's, from a man with his own strip club - that praise indeed! Somehow we keep missing each other on your trips!
Let me know in advance next time! _________________ www.annajet.co.uk |

I will & Thanks for the good words Peter. I wish I had my own club. Don't know if I've got the patience. I haven't been to Anna Jet's since June 2006. If I'd send you a picture hopefully you'd remember me. My work in the Security Industry has me quite busy these days. I first visited during Songkran 2006. What a blast that was. From SCUBA during the day, and enjoying the Songkran festivities in the evening & night, I stayed "wet" the entire time I was there
Take care, be smooth _________________ What doesn't kill you, can only make you stronger...

Yo BigDD... we definitely had a great time !
But I must say, that I have enough of Songkran for a lifetime, because I was there every year since 2004 !
This year I´ll be out there in March and will travel home before Songkran begins.
Not that I hate it... it could always happen to me in future again that I can´t get my holidays before the end of March ( ...like it happened in all those past years )... and so I´ll definitely join the mood/madness again.
What else should I do, beside going to "water war", full equiped with water gun and ( ...for Pete´s amusement ) with a cheap waterproof disposal camera ?
