Iīm posting this simultaneously to the Travel Dates sections of both, UKBKK and Anna Jet forum, hopefully that I will get the chance to meet up with some board members in Thailand again.
There are 3 alternative periods of time next year for my 8th trip to Thailand:
17. January to 15. February
07. March to 05. April
28. March to 26. April
Would be great to be overthere for Songkran again.
But it looks like I canīt get away from here in in April 2010, because of the re-opening of one of our open air swimming pools which is under renovation at the moment.
Some test runs of the new technical systems of the pools are essential in March/April time
and I need and want to be there, because Iīm one of those who have to work with the new equipment later.
So, I also can not be sure if I can travel to Thailand in March.
There is a good chance that Iīll be back in Pattaya earlier as expected, which means that I have to take my holiday month from 17. January to 15. February.
Not sure yet !
Things could be completely different in the end.
But before this yearīs October I canīt start planning for one specific period of time in 2010.
And
Iīm still looking forward to my trip to India in coming November.
But Iīm not sure if I can make it to travel overthere or not
once again because of work.
There are many changes going on here
especially with the public sport facilities where I work.
Those changes might hold me back from going on travel again this year
and maybe I have to give India a miss
But in the first half of 2010, it has to be Thailand again !

At the moment it looks like I donīt go on travel to anywhere in the first half of 2010 and also during the rest of the year !
Looks like my employer needs me here, because of the renovation and the re-opening of the old open air swimming pools.
Planning ahead is only about work schedules, visiting seminaries and about test runs of the new technical section.
Itīs not that my employer doesnīt allows us to go on holidays... But long term holidays like in the years before seem to be impossible.
What can I do with one week, six times in a year ?
I will not travel to LOS or to any other far distant destination for one week only...
But who knows... itīs a long time ahead before the begin of 2010... and my "account" of overtime hours is growing day by day I work at the other swimming pools in summer and at the icerink in winter, or by doing some office work here at home.
Somehow I canīt get rid of the feeling, that they will let me go as soon as the personnel office in the city hall comes to know about all this.
So, Iīll wait and see, because patience is the mother of all anticipation ! _________________ http://mekongmike.blogspot.com/

Yo Kennyboy... good to see you at facebook.
Itīs a place where I donīt log in so often, because of my lack of time to do so.
I tried various sites like facebook before... A German one called "Wer kennt wen ?" ("Who knows whom ?") was interesting for a while.
But I have deleted my account there... too many friends requests of people I really donīt know.
Normaly Iīm always interested in making new friendships... But I donīt have time to do so in the web.
Adding a complete stranger to my friends list is making no sense to me... unless I know the person from correspondence on a forum or from a time we met together in real life.
I donīt agree with you about what youīve said that Iīm a computer expert.
Iīm really not !
Began working with a PC in the year 2006 for the first time in my life, because daily life, work and private stuff forced me to do so.
I donīt regret it, because it has become my main way to enjoy my hobbies and interests in music, literature and art.
But Iīm far away from being a computer expert.
Sometimes I still feel like a prehistoric man who left his cave by night time and began to toss stones against the moon... lol.
But I agree with you about JimmyMac !
Heīs a lucky man.
Most of the Thai girls who live in Europe (or anywhere else in the world... far away from Thailand) are here, because they are married with a Farang.
I never met a single Thai woman here in Germany.
Must confess that I never searched for one.
But no problem for me.
MekongMikeīs rule No.2 for me is:
"Have a rollercoaster ride one time in a year only !"
Well, rule No.1 is:
"Thailand is for holidays ! Real life is back home !"
Cheers, Kenny and Jimbo ! _________________ http://mekongmike.blogspot.com/

After a phone call with my boss in the morning, it doesnīt looks good for a trip during Songkran 2010.
Heīll let me know in coming October if and when I can get my long time holidays in the first half of next year... could be January/February or March, but definitely not April.
If everything works fine, Iīll be back in Pattaya sooner as expected... if not, I have to wait till October or November next year. _________________ http://mekongmike.blogspot.com/

Finally... Itīs done !
Holidays begin on Monday, 08 February 2010.
Iīm now booked on Thai Airways TG923 from Frankfurt to Bangkok on 08 February, 8:55pm... Return on 08 March with TG922, 1:15pm.
The price is 401,- for the flight, 220,- airport tax (WTF !?) and 70,- German railway from my place to Frankfurt.
So, 691,- to get there and back... for another 4 weeks in LOS.
Iīm looking forward to meet up with SamSongTom (Tommy from Munich) again, who will be overthere already on 30 January... _________________ http://mekongmike.blogspot.com/

I have paid 691,- Euro today... Itīs o.k. for me, because it is a nonstop flight, Frankfurt to Bangkok.
I rather pay a little bit more for a nonstop flight than buying a cheap ticket from an airline that will force me to hang around for hours as a transit passenger in the desert.
The simple fact that I travel one time in a year only, is also a reason why I donīt care of the price.
If I would travel two or three times a year, I would change my habit of looking for nonstop flights only.
I have just sent my e-mail request for a room reservation in Flipper House, Soi 7 and expect their reply tomorrow...
Iīm looking forward to meet up with you in Pattaya.
Will arrive there on 09. February, late afternoon time and will definitely pop up at AJīs later... after sunset.
