“The post LOS syndrom” is a common known term used to describe the depressions that come along with the period of time soon after returning home from holidays in Thailand.
At UKBKK we use this to describe all the homesickness for LOS, the sadness and lonelyness we feel when we are back in boring land.
To make it short… It´s the blues !
I suffered from this years ago, everytime after my first 3 trips to LOS.
But now after my 7th trip, I don´t get the blues anymore… because I´m strong like a German oak tree.
The post LOS syndrom I have right now is more physical… not mental.
There were/are three steps of suffering:
Step 1
It began soon after I arrived home: Stomach problems, physical weakness and diarrhoea.
I went to the doctor… got some medicine and felt better after two days.
Step 2
Sunshine, warm spring time weather in Germany and… I got the cold after my first ride with my mountainbike.
It turned out to get more worse, just two days before I had to resume my duties at work.
Went to the doctor again and he told me that I got some sort of inflammation of the sinuses.
Got some medicine again and felt better after two days…
Step 3
It began day before yesterday: Some itchiness in my right eye, which began to turn red.
My colleagues started to make fun with me about the blood shot in my eye.
This morning I woke up and my eye was deep red and unable to open wide because of a swelling.
So, I have to see the good doctor again tomorrow…
What I want to say here is, that I don´t blame Thailand for all this.
But it´s a strange coincidence that all this happens to me so soon after my recent holidays.
And… hasn´t the good doctor said something about “not so healthy liver values, which might be temporary after too much drinking during holidays”, with regards to the blood sample he had taken from me, when I came to him to sort the wild shits out !?
I came to the point, that I´m not longer so strong and resistant like in the years before I reached the age of 40 !
So, next time in LOS, I have to make a difference, by holding myself more in the background instead of being the freaky, dancing and boozing bar fly again.
Dunno how I can do this…
Maybe I should barfine a girl very long time and hide myself together with her in my hotel room for a few days… eh !?
But I know already how all this will end.
I will do the same things again like everytime on a quiet night at Anna Jet, because death will find me sooner or later… that´s why I make party now !
Nevertheless… maybe I should look for the more nurse like girls, next time I´m overthere.
Oh, I better stop writing now, because my right eye is producing too many tears.
No sadness… it´s just from starring in that computer monitor.
Cheers to all !

Mike, let me recommend the nurses at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.
They took care of me for almost a fortnight after my heart attack - and they were lovely!
The cost of around 1,000,000 baht was a bit extreme - but I think there may be a middle ground - since nurses in Thailand only get 7-8,000 baht a month (I think).
So book yourself in for a couple of nights cheap observations, find a girl and take care of her for your next month!
If I were starting again ...... _________________ www.annajet.co.uk |

I recommend these nurses from TG bar soi 6;

Not recommended for heart attacks, unless you want to induce one, but recommended for removing any stiffness you may be suffering from. Actually they cause it as well. But slightly cheaper than our hosts option. _________________ Time is a great teacher, unfortunately it kills all it’s pupils |

I guess only one eye is not enough... Nice girls.
By the way, the doctor said that it might be some sort of allergy against grass and pollen, with regards to spring season here and my work ( lawn mowing at the swimming pool before the begin of this year´s open water season on coming Wednesday ).
The eye drops I got are of no help... meanwhile I don´t see clearly anymore with my right eye and need to keep it close with my left hand whilst typing on the keyboard with my right hand.
Will see how it goes tomorrow... after another visit at the good doctor instead of going to work.
Oh... what a wonderful life ! _________________ http://mekongmike.blogspot.com/

Found this word here in a German-English online dictionary... It´s the translation of the German name of what I got with my eye.
"acute contagious conjunctivitis"
Sounds nice... even nobody can tell me how and where one can catch up something like this.
But I look nice at the moment, wearing an eye pad to protect the red eye from sunlight.
Here is a pic for the girls´amusement:

The good thing about all this is that I don´t go back to work before next Monday...
The bad thing is that this pad is making me nervous ( ...I had removed it already as soon as I returned home ) and that I can´t read or do something in the internet without having an outbreak of tears. _________________ http://mekongmike.blogspot.com/
