How Many Days Till Wheels Up Flaps Open ?This works at UKBKK as well as at other Thai related forums in the web.It could be the longest thread ever… So, how many days, hours, minutes and even seconds till wheels up flaps opens again and you are finaly flying back to Thailand ? To check it out, you need a countdown timer on your PC and program it with your estimated departure time from the airport in your homeland. You can download and install the free “Karen´s Countdown Timer” on your PC. Ive seen them many times before mike and i agree they are quite a good novelty in your case when you have just over a month to go until you are back home so to speak  , but for myself could become a pain having the constant reminder every day just how long i have to go which is roughly(5 months). Will put a good one up though soon, also mike how did you get it into every post you create? did you add it manually each time or just place it in your signiture section???

Countdown timer settings
I add it manually each time I´m in the mood to post here in this thread. ( I read what the Karen countdown clock displays in a small window here on my PC and simply type it here into the message ) There might be other countdown timers from several online services which you can use in forums right under a member´s profile name and picture. But you need to be an admin to set the board´s adjustments in this way. Nevertheless, I wouldn´t do it, because those softwares or link connections might carry the danger of infecting the board itself with viruses and nasty malfunctions. I guess Pete will agree with me, that we shouldn´t even think about such a new function. I took the pic of the tatty old Thai Airways plane at Frankfurt Int. Airport in March 2006. |

My next trip is already planned for November ( 18/19 th I think ) ...return December 6 th ( I think ) ...The plane ticket has been paid for , but I am still looking at hotels / apartments etc ....as I am trying to find a decent hotel in the right location . I am checking a number of hotels / guest houses out at the moment .......... but if all else fails I may Return to my last digs .....but I can `t help thinking there is something better out there .regards yogi p.s back at last to real life .....I like going to Pattaya , but it is not real ......its make believe ......... Hi BlaggerHi Blagger ......Yes , I was looking at flipper hotel last night as that is where Mekong Mike does is mongering , Mike had recommended this hotel to me so I had put it on a short list as possibles ...... and the price is where i am trying to be . I have stayed at Arcadia Mansion this year on soi 14 ( next to TIM BEER BAR ) but it somehow did`nt match my expectations . I am not after a 5 star 5000 baht hotel , but I want something clean and comfortable with safe etc and ideally located around central Pattaya . Unfortunately for me though Flipper is not available ( no room ) so I must look further . I am not worried unduly as I can always doss down on the beach .....yes I am an animal ......... filthy anyway according to some ladies , thats why I drink at A.J . I do appreciate any feedback on this guys .

I am yogi , not Mekong Mike or Jimmy mac , this sounds very very shady , afterall , I am alright telling my mates that I am going to the sleaze capital of the world " on Business " and my hotel is called tankie wankie .......you`ve got to laugh ..... But I will look into it ....could be a real diamond ... who knows ....I only hope Jimbo does`nt read this he`ll be there everyday brandishing his pork sword . I am assuming its a room above a bar / guesthouse  . I am already feeling embarrassed , Banksy , I am a good man jai dee , I am not into sleazing like those mongers Mekong Mike and Jimmy mac , I prefer visiting temples etc etc when I am on holiday  . HOTEL INFOhi yogi,just remembered 1 of the girls was talking about ,what used to be the prince hotel on soi 8 above the bar complex,pool area looks good and they say the rooms are nice,not sure of the name now or the price but im sure peter could find out for you,another is the sunbeam at top of soi 8 a bit more expensive but sun goes off pool at around 2.30 no good when u have a late night,plus they charge u for a guest ,no good when wife goes to pay the bill lol,u have to do some very quick thinking |

Thanks guysHi Blagger n Banksy sr thanks for the hotel info , I have`nt been down soi 8 ( bottom half ) in probably 18 months as I was mugged by a bar girl in CHERRY BAR , she got cute with my bill and slipped a few extras in ......but I was making eye to eye contact with her at the same time . I am basicallt trying to get away from the same, same area all the time and I am wanting somewhere close to the action , but half decent and around 25 setang a night ( bar fine inclusive ) :lol .

yeah yogi i hear what your saying about ending up in the same same areas all the time i guess we are just creatures of habit aint we, well i know i am when it comes to soi 6  . The sawasdee group are very big both in bkk and pattaya the hotel on soi buckhow is a reasonable hotel at good price including breakfast.

time for a changeHi Jimmy ...... I am at home now typing this but I cannot help but feel that i need to change something about my next trip to Thailand . I am getting rather bored of the same hotels , same bars etc , so I am now looking for something closer to the beach and walking street . I may also look at the soi Boukhaua area , as I feel too many people know me and take me for granted in my old haunts and that way it will spice up the rest of the holiday , I have even thought about Naklua and Jomtien ....... but I am not worried as I have my flight paid for already and if the worst happens I can doss down on the beach or gutter ....UPTO ME .. Yogi the soi Buakhao area and soi LK Metro are good places to stay can recommend a few places around there if you want. As for going to the same places feeling yes you do have to make a conscious decision sometimes to mix it up. Also taking a break from Pattaya and going on a visit somewhere else can be nice and in my case essential after 7-10 days in the mad house that is Pattaya .

Doing a couple of days in phuket will help you out very nice beaches all
the honeys on one block Ban Chang would be nice to if did not want to fly anymore never been but heard good things from guys that do the FLB bar crawl there. like they say up to you |

Not to sure about ban chang as a “getaway” from Pattaya , from what I’ve read on the FLB board it’s a bit like soi 6 but with less bars and ladies!
Koh Chang on the other hand is great getaway nice seafood and beaches admittedly the nightlife is not even a patch on even soi LK but as a relaxing timeout I loved my visit there. Easy to arrange mini bus door to door and despite being told “all the girls are dogs” “take your own" etc I managed OK with this “tour and entertainment officer” for 4 days;

Hi KP .... Firstly welcome to the forum . Perhaps you could help me out KP , I was in A J last year ( MAY/JUNE ) and I met this guy who was also called KP ( he was lusting after one of the girls ) he was sitting to my right and helped Monty and myself to down a bottle of Jack Daniels . Hope you guys have fun overthere ! For me it´s still too early to count the days... maybe 200 and something days to wait, if it is really going to happen in the first half of 2010. Like I said many times before, it is o.k. for me to travel to LOS one time in a year only. But after I had to cancel my trip to India which was planned for coming November and after I have realised that it is still not sure if I can travel to LOS next year or not, things have become a little bit depressing. Just a little bit... But I know that I will survive this. |
