Since the year 2006, Anna Jet is my first place to go on the day of my arrival in Pattaya...
Well, thatīs not completely true, because I use to arrive in the morning or by afternoon time and as usual I phone call my mate from Munich, who always use to be in Pattaya a few days before me.
Iīll meet up with him, when he returns from the beach, around 4:00 or 5:00pm at one of the other beer bars in Soi 7... probably Minnieīs, Nickīs, Aussie or UK Bar, for one or two beers before dinner.
But later, on my first night out, I will definitely go straight to Anna Jet... with or without my friend.
Nothing will hold me back !
And I definitely will not go anywhere else in my first night !
So, if there wasnīt any delay of my flight and if I didnīt got lost on my way from Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya, I will pop up at AJīs between 8:00 and 9:00pm on Monday 09th March 2009 !
You mentioned a jet lag...
Well, I guess in the morning after my first night out, I maybe will have an
"Anna Jet lag"....

On my first two trips ( 2004 and 2005 ) I travelled around a little bit, which was nothing compare to my "Indiana Jones" tours in India during the 1990ties.
In 2004 I fell in love with the first Thai girl I met who wasnīt working in any bar... she showed me a little bit of the country... her motherīs place in Sa Kaeo ( near Cambodian border ), her fatherīs place in Phanom Sarakham... we visited Cha Choengsao... Bangkok, of course... all the touristy stuff, incl Ayuthaya...
Personally I prefer the countryside of Thailand... not the islands.
But I became very lazy on my past 4 trips, after my relationship with the girl had failed in 2006... staying in Pattaya and Jomtien all the time... maybe some one-day-trips to touristy places, thatīs all.
After a year of working Saturdays, Sundays and week days, lotīs of overtime hours, I just love it to relax at Jomtien Beach ( in the shadow ), to read a book and to hang around in bars every night...
Iīm going to stay in Pattaya for 4 weeks... from 09th March to 06th April.

good for you mate!!!!! ave never fell in love and probably wont too many sweets in the candy shop as for jotiem a never had a day free too go to the beach but this year a plan to do this as a spent too much time in hotel room recovering when a should have been relaxing at the beach. have you caught the web site thai anxiety it gives a fair view off all thats going on in pattaya pubs, clubs and lets you know what new ect. a got too know 2 german lads in phuket and wee became good friends for a few years but as you know sometimes people move on and they still go to phuket.
have you went to soi six for an afternoon its a bit extreme but most the ex pats have a laugh and thier is a few gems o wee bars that have a great atmoshere but as a seasoned traveler you get to know what you like and thats why a like anna jet its got its own atmoshere and is a little different for many reasons but the girls appear to be genuinly happy working for anna and that leads to an ambience of a good place too be.

Yup !
I have been in Soi 6... a few trips ago... and I will definitely visit the place again.
But I must confess, that there are things in Pattaya I like and others I donīt like.
Iīm a quiet type of man... some things are fun, others are just some sort of big "Punch and Judy show" for me.
I donīt like to run from one disco or go go bar to the next every night... I just enjoy it two or three times a week.
About the beach... well, itīs just nice... but I wouldnīt go for a swim anymore like I did on my first trip, because the water in Jomtien and at Pattaya Beach is not clean.

mike the first few times a went to pattaya a did walking street often but like most people who holiday regularly in thai become bored with that scene every night . what i ahave found however the more people a now know a have to spend time in different bars with ma friends and as a usualy only get three weeks it appears time passes fairly quickly . same as you a work extremly hard and am under presssure every shift so i tend to party slightly more than usual. i do not however go from pub too pub a have places which over the years that are regarded as ma local and the owners have become friends in thailand. the one person who i have wanted to hook up with is peter as over the years i have been too annas every trip and just by knowing the place and being there so often i got to see the web site and know i believe this trip will also bring new friendships and a further knowlege of the wonderful contry thai is. ps where do you swim ave heard there is a good pool at the top of mike shopping mall?

kennyboy... I guess, the reason for being such a quiet person compare with other Pattaya tourists is caused by my job and my always busy lifestyle here at home. One might think that a guy like me shouldnīt travel to Pattaya anyway, because I couldnīt find the little peace and quiet overthere that I deserve.
But believe me, I can... because wherever you go in life, youīll find only that what you bring with you.
So, Iīm not the type of man who goes on a night out in Pattaya with only one aim, which might be getting drunk or barfining a girl.
Itīs o.k. for me to go out, have some fun and return back to my room alone sometimes.
The definition of a typical "sex tourist" might not fit perfectly to me, because I never do anything in Pattaya, that I wouldnīt do in Germany.
I have my "love" sessions here at home as well... but I must confess that it happens more often in Pattaya.
Whenever I think about my fellow Germans here, collegues and friends, I get the feeling that Iīm the happiest man in the world, because I can do what I want in life... no strings attached at all.
Being busy with work is just normal... and Iīm really standing for my job, because I like it.
I donīt agree with those who are eager to return to LOS many times in a year, because returning home, staying there and contributing on two Thai related forums (AJīs and UKBKK) is part of my personal way to work and live with my Thailand experiences.
About swimming.... well, there is a very small swimming pool at the top of my hotel in Soi 7 (Flipper House)... I use to go there one or two times each holidays.
I must confess that Iīm not eager to visit swimming pools whilst Iīm on holidays, because I work at swimming pools all summer long here in Germany.
Iīm a swimming pool attendant, a lifeguard, a cashier, a cleaner and a technical engineer for the water recycling.
Most of the time during winter, I work at an indoor icerink... so, lots of noisy people and loud music all around me every day... which might be another reason why I use to keep myself more in the background in my free time and why I donīt like to go to discos every night.
But believe me... Iīm not completely quiet and not shy at all.
I just allow myself to drift along the timeline of my holidays... to see what happens next to me... to be surprised... to have fun...
Thatīs the way how holidays should work... Iīll start up with planning and following schedules again soon enough... back home, when holiday fun is over.

mike you might not believe me , you are more typical of the people that i meet in pattaya many folk are quiet and have buzy lives back home. as for taking girls home every night it is more often than not that a large number of men sleep alone. i know this from the knowlege i have gained and what most of the pats tell me. we will discuss this further when we talk in person. the person who you are does not change by where you are on holiday this i believe too be true also in pattaya. i tend to avoid bullshitters and as you probably have seen. many attract themselves to this place . a liked the way you aswered my question it should be an interesting time in march hope too see ya on the 9th. take care ps a do however need to find a decent pool this time . have you tried the go karts

So, we should continue our chat about life, the universe and everything when we meet together overthere.
Decent pools... hmmm !
There might be many of them in Pattaya... not necessarely at the hotels only.
As I said before, I was never interested to check out where they are... But I heard about a nice pool on top of my... ere Mikeīs shopping mall and this famous "Pattaya Park" at Jomtien / Dongtan Beach might be worth a visit too.
But in case you canīt make it to Pattaya, you are always welcome at my workplace in summer...

There's a pool on top of Mike's Shopping Mall????????
How did I miss that? After SCUBA during the day (Ko Larn & Ko Sak)when I was there I was more interested in just relaxing in a nice atmosphere in the evenings.
I too did the walking street tour found it a bit of a zoo. I found a nice band from the US playing in Lucifer and had a good time dancing there. There was also a nice Seafood restauarant I found along walking street also. Great food. I had a "hot" seafood soup there that I'm dying to sample again when I come back.
Why do I feel homesick when I think of Thailand and Pattaya with such great memories? I remember, I can't find (or buy) that feeling anywhere else in the world I've been. The ladies are too darn beautiful!!!!!
