kennyboy... I guess, the reason for being such a quiet person compare with other Pattaya tourists is caused by my job and my always busy lifestyle here at home. One might think that a guy like me shouldnīt travel to Pattaya anyway, because I couldnīt find the little peace and quiet overthere that I deserve.
But believe me, I can... because wherever you go in life, youīll find only that what you bring with you.
So, Iīm not the type of man who goes on a night out in Pattaya with only one aim, which might be getting drunk or barfining a girl.
Itīs o.k. for me to go out, have some fun and return back to my room alone sometimes.
The definition of a typical "sex tourist" might not fit perfectly to me, because I never do anything in Pattaya, that I wouldnīt do in Germany.
I have my "love" sessions here at home as well... but I must confess that it happens more often in Pattaya.
Whenever I think about my fellow Germans here, collegues and friends, I get the feeling that Iīm the happiest man in the world, because I can do what I want in life... no strings attached at all.
Being busy with work is just normal... and Iīm really standing for my job, because I like it.
I donīt agree with those who are eager to return to LOS many times in a year, because returning home, staying there and contributing on two Thai related forums (AJīs and UKBKK) is part of my personal way to work and live with my Thailand experiences.
About swimming.... well, there is a very small swimming pool at the top of my hotel in Soi 7 (Flipper House)... I use to go there one or two times each holidays.
I must confess that Iīm not eager to visit swimming pools whilst Iīm on holidays, because I work at swimming pools all summer long here in Germany.
Iīm a swimming pool attendant, a lifeguard, a cashier, a cleaner and a technical engineer for the water recycling.
Most of the time during winter, I work at an indoor icerink... so, lots of noisy people and loud music all around me every day... which might be another reason why I use to keep myself more in the background in my free time and why I donīt like to go to discos every night.
But believe me... Iīm not completely quiet and not shy at all.
I just allow myself to drift along the timeline of my holidays... to see what happens next to me... to be surprised... to have fun...
Thatīs the way how holidays should work... Iīll start up with planning and following schedules again soon enough... back home, when holiday fun is over. _________________ http://mekongmike.blogspot.com/

| mike you might not believe me , you are more typical of the people that i meet in pattaya many folk are quiet and have buzy lives back home. as for taking girls home every night it is more often than not that a large number of men sleep alone. i know this from the knowlege i have gained and what most of the pats tell me. we will discuss this further when we talk in person. the person who you are does not change by where you are on holiday this i believe too be true also in pattaya. i tend to avoid bullshitters and as you probably have seen. many attract themselves to this place . a liked the way you aswered my question it should be an interesting time in march hope too see ya on the 9th. take care ps a do however need to find a decent pool this time . have you tried the go karts |

So, we should continue our chat about life, the universe and everything when we meet together overthere.
Decent pools... hmmm !
There might be many of them in Pattaya... not necessarely at the hotels only.
As I said before, I was never interested to check out where they are... But I heard about a nice pool on top of my... ere Mikeīs shopping mall and this famous "Pattaya Park" at Jomtien / Dongtan Beach might be worth a visit too.
But in case you canīt make it to Pattaya, you are always welcome at my workplace in summer...

The swimming pool on top of "mikes shopping mall" is prob your best bet kennyboy, its about 200 baht all day and theres a place to get some food and a nice cold beer too. Pattaya park is just off the road on the way to jontiem beach but is more focused around slides and smaller pools for kids that arnt that deep.

There's a pool on top of Mike's Shopping Mall????????
How did I miss that? After SCUBA during the day (Ko Larn & Ko Sak)when I was there I was more interested in just relaxing in a nice atmosphere in the evenings.
I too did the walking street tour found it a bit of a zoo. I found a nice band from the US playing in Lucifer and had a good time dancing there. There was also a nice Seafood restauarant I found along walking street also. Great food. I had a "hot" seafood soup there that I'm dying to sample again when I come back.
Why do I feel homesick when I think of Thailand and Pattaya with such great memories? I remember, I can't find (or buy) that feeling anywhere else in the world I've been. The ladies are too darn beautiful!!!!! _________________ What doesn't kill you, can only make you stronger...
